'World News' (Neva Sexton, R. 1977) Seedling# 7-72. TB, 36" (91 cm). Midseason bloom. Standards red-brown, flushed orange; falls darker red-brown; orange-gold beard. 'Thanksgiving' X ( 'Olympic Torch' X 'My Honeycomb'). Sexton 1977. Honorable Mention 1978.

From AIS Bulletin #225 Spring 1977 Introducing WORLD NEWS (Sexton '77). M, 36".Thanksgiving X (Olympic Torch x My Honeycomb). The wide falls are a rich blend of red-brown. Stands are a lighter shade than the falls, with an orange flush. Wide orange-gold beard. Closed stands and extra wide falls. Well-branched stalks with 9-12 blooms per stalk. $25.00. Sexton's Iris Garden.
