From Glen Road Iris Gardens catalog, 1924: WODEN (Sturt. 1924) — Of Valkyrie habit and flower, introduced for its intrinsic merit as a breeder rather than for color value. Colonial buff and deep livid purple, oddly striking, but not altogether pleasing in tone. 30 in. 15.00.
