Tell Muhlestein, R. 1964). Seedling #166, (has been considered BB, IB, TB). TB, 24" (61 cm), Midseason to very late bloom season, Standards. rosy brown; falls amaranth flushed claret red and rosy violet, red-brown hafts.

'Bang'. Tell 1964. High Commendation 1963; Honorable Mention 1965.
NOTE: The Median Iris Society currently considers this to be a border bearded, but no record of the reclassification has been found in the official AIS Registry.

From Tell’s Gardens catalog, 1964: WILD PEACOCK (Muhlestein '64) M-Vl 24 in. (Jungle Bird x Bang) The reciprocal cross to Martel. Standards rosy-wine with tan infusion. Falls deeper wine with wide, strong flush of bright violet; hafts brushed deep brown almost one full inch. The flower is about five inches overall. Falls flare and ruffle. The entire flower glistens like the finish of a Peacock's feathers. H.C. '63. #166. $25.00 |
