From AIS Bulletin #232 Winter 1979 Introducing WHITE, ECHO BLUE. (1979). 36", M, #107-4A . $25.00. Irises in this color class are rather plentiful. However, it seems to fit into a niche of its own in the garden. It's beautifully branched, with large, 6"x6" ruffled semi-flaring, clean cut, tall blue-violet plicata-marked flowers, which makes it qualify. Its standards are heavily banded, with a pure white center. The falls are wide, ruffled and semi-flaring, with a 3/8" plicata band on a large, pure white ground. Stylearms are large and of the same blue-violet color. Growth habits have attracted much favorable attention, making its introduction seem a most logical choice. Gibson Iris Garden. |
