From Sturtevant Glen Road Iris Garden catalog, 1920: WHIFFENPOOF. The erect, ruffled standards, Deep Olive Buff with an edge of Vinaceous Buff; the falls, also ruffled at the edge, a deep Amparo Purple that fades to Russet Vinaceous. The branching habit and the openness of the large segments approach the ideal. 30 in.
