From AIS Bulletin #305 April 1997 Introducing WES SILVA (Frederick Kerr 1997) Sdlg. 910301B. TB 42" (RAINBOW ETUDE X STARMASTER). RAINBOW ETUDE was one of our first introductions and it was distinguished by the white signal area around the beards. We wanted to carry out this pattern on a darker flower and selected Starmaster as the pollen parent. We raised over 300 seedlings from this cross and this seedling has the same signal with an altogether larger flower, whiter beard, taller stalk and richer navy blue coloration. A bonus feature is the strong fragrance of rootbeer. Rightly described as a beacon in the garden it draws all visitors to it. $35.00. Rainbow Acres. |
