From AIS Bulletin #153, April 1959: Introducing WAVE CAP (Schliefert 1959) (Snow Flurry X Chivalry) Tall Bearded 37" M. L. The lovely seafoam blue flowers are large and flaring of form with very broad, ruffled petals. Placement is good on strong, tall well-branched stalks. Color is very close to #642-2 by the Wilson Color Chart. In the 1958 H. C. Awards Wave Cap placed seventh from the top. $20.00 Net. SCHLIEFERT IRIS GARDENS.
From Fleur De Lis catalog, 1964: WAVE CAP (Schleifert '58) M.L. 37 in. (Snow Flurry x Chivalry). A pale seafoam blue. Large, flaring, beautifully waved petals of heavy substance and fine finish . H.M. 1959. 3.50.
