From Quality Gardens catalog 1931: WACONDA (H. Sass 1930) M. 30". A large flowered fuschia red. Very vigorous grower. S. deep fuschia red. F. rich velvety violet carmine. The stalks are over 3 feet and well branched. The beard is yellow. A most attractive iris and a good border plant, as the color is very clear and bright. $8.00.
From Sass catalog, 1937: WACONDA (H. P. Sass, 1931)- A much admired, big red purple self of deep tone with exceptional carrying quality for so dark an iris. It makes a most attractive garden group of deep red effect. A sister seedling of Rameses. (Honorable Mention, 1931). 35c
