1979, Zurbrigg

'Violet Miracle' (Lloyd Zurbrigg, R. 1979). Seedling# L 26 V.M. TB, 40" (102 cm). Late midseason bloom and rebloom (October - November in Virginia). Near spectrum violet self; violet beard lightly tipped yellow. ('Sign of Leo' x ('Tuxedo' x 'Purple Duet')) X 'Violet Classic'. Avonbank 1979.

Avonbank Gardens. (1979). Introductions for 1979. Bulletin of the American Iris Society, 233(Spring 1979), 83. "A simply huge, giant iris. Stalks like tree-trunks in the fall, up to 44". Reblooms October. $25.00. Avonbank Gardens."
Moores, W. (2001). Progenitors: In modern reblooming irises. Bulletin of the American Iris Society, 320(January 2001), 29. "This is the only reblooming progenitor which has a score of one hundred percent. All seventeen registered cultivars from it have been registered as rebloomers. It has produced two Award of Merit winners in ROSALIE FIGGE and SUKY. Other outstanding irises from it are CANTINA, CONSTANT COMP ANION, and MARIPOSA SKIES."
