From Tell’s Gardens catalog,1959: VIOLET LEATHER (Tell Muhlestein.) Midseason to Late. 36". ((Pierre Menard) x (Sky Song x Cahokia)) X (Utah Sky.) Light violet, near chicory blue. Large flowers with falls that flare horizontally and the substance is so heavy it reminds one of leather. The branching is close and high on heavy stalks. I should like to see this crossed with Swan Ballet or some of Mrs. Crosby's new things like Swandalay or Lilac Bouquet. No. 57-111 A.H.C. 1958. $20.00 |
