'Velvet Morning' (Bernice Roe, R. 1974) Seedling# A-29. TB, 38" (97 cm). Early to midseason bloom. Standards lavender; falls full red-violet; lemon beard. 'Sunset Blues' X 'Kimberly'. Pacific Coast Hybridizers 1975.

From AIS Bulletin #217 April 1975 Introducing VELVET MORNING (Bernice Roe). Unmatched for richness and lushness of coloring-lavender-blue standards and velvet-finished falls of deep, vibrant violet. The finished and smooth flowers are carried on stiff stalks and have three branches and terminal with double buds. This child of Sunset Blues X Kimberly should be of value and interest in breeding neglecta and amoena plicatas. HC '74. $25.00. Pacific Coast Hybridizers.
