From Knopf Iris Gardens catalog,1965: UPPER GLOW: Seedling No. 63-44, M-L. Melodrama x Orchid Jewel. Slightly ruffled. Here is a flower visitors to the garden thought was the best with its violet falls flaring horizontally with a brownish violet beard, to contrast the blending of lavender in the Standards which dome together. The wide and prominent style arms in violet-lavender blending finishes this beauty. Healthy, strong grower, well branched with immense substance. H.C. '64. 32". $35.00
