Paul Black, R. 1983). Seedling# B81-56. TB, 38" (97 cm). Early midseason bloom. Standards burgundy wine, white midrib area with green veining; falls deeper burgundy wine, 3/4" white spot around yellow beard; ruffled and laced; slight sweet fragrance.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 1984: TOWERING INFERNO- TB, 38" (97cm), Early-Midseason. This hot number towers over the garden with a flare like none other. Standards are burgundy wine with a confined white midrib area veined with green. Falls are deeper burgundy wine that are somewhat lighter at the edge and with a 3/4" clear white spot around yellow beards. Flowers are large and expansive with heavy ruffles and lace.
