From AIS Bulletin #228 Winter 1978 Introducing THISTLE BELLE (1978). TB, 35", M, #32-4A. $25.00. This one is for those preferring a rich and powerful color in a plicata. Its 6" x 6" blooms are of fine form, ruffled, fluted and have good substance. The large standards are arched or domed. A pleasing violet-brown color flows over the ruffled white ground. The falls are also wide, fiuted, and speckled with a plicata rim with a white ground. The beard is brown, tipped golden. This is a WOODWINE X WILD GINGER cross. Three branches and terminal, 8 buds. Gibson Iris Gardens. |
