Awaiting original catalog description |
From G. G. Whitelegg catalog, 1921: TARTARIN (Bliss). Very extraordinary variety, producing enormous flowers, larger than any other, of two distinct shades of pale lilac lavender-blue. The standards are apt to flop the second day after opening, but this in no way detracts from the beauty of the huge blossoms which are borne on stout stems; height, 3 ft. |
|
From Bonnewitz catalog, 1927: TARTARIN (Bliss). S. good lavender-blue; F. light violet-blue, deeper than S. Bright orange beard. A very large flower, which is in a class with Ann Page, but does not grow quite as large nor have as strong stems as Ann Page. The individual flower is very beautiful, and it blooms in midseason. Height 36 inches $1.00. |
