From Milliken Iris Gardens catalog, 1955: STEP UP (Muhlestein) The coloring of this new amoena is especially clean. The standards are white as white can be, while the falls are clear violet blue that almost seems to be dusted over a white ground. Really a "step up" in amoena breeding. 36 in. $5.00.
From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: STEP UP (Muhl. 1952) M. 38 in. (Mme. M. Lassailley x Mist Glow). A new amoena that was simply stunning as it performed here last year. The flowers were large, broad petaled and had perfect form. The colors are particularly clean and appealing, the standards being snow white while the falls are a clear light violet blue that seems to be almost powdered over a white base. We highly recommend it. 3.50.
