'Spring Sonnet' ( Fred DeForest, R. 1948). Sdlg. 51-9. TB, Midseason bloom, Color Class-R4L. Loomis 'SQ 72 x 'Overture'. DeForest (Irisnoll) 1953.

* Color Class of R4L seems ambiguous for this color combination.

* Sdlg number 51-9 and height of 38" found in original introduction description from 1953 Irisnoll catalog. It was never entered in the 1949 CL. This is a perfect example of a broken registration which should have been updated in the 1959 CL.

From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: SPRING SONNET (DeForest 1953) M. 38 in. (From pink lines). Large, broad petaled flowers of flaring form with pure white standards and creamy yellow falls. Excellent. 10.00.
