'Spooned Sampler' (Lloyd Austin, T. 1962). Seedling# 913. TB, height 36" (91 cm). Midseason to late bloom. Color Class-Y4. Standards yellow; falls yellow washed in light red, yellow haft; orange beard with yellow spoons. 'Plumed Delight' X 'Horned Rosyred'. Rainbow 1962.

From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: SPOONED SAMPLER (Austin '62) ML-36". Nicely spooned, very intriguing. Standards bright yellow, arched; falls narrow, almost horizontal, somewhat folded, pale yellow, flushed light red. Each yellow beard usually ends in a light red horn with a spoon 1/4"to 1" wide, commonly standing erect in a very provocative manner. Pollen plentiful. (Plumed Delight X Horned Rosyred). Regularly $3.50; on $10 order $2.1 0; on $25 order $1.40; 3 for $4.00.
