(TB) 'Spooned Delight'

1961, Austin

'Spooned Delight' (Lloyd Austin, R. 1960). Seedling# 8190. TB, height 34" (86 cm). Early midseason to midseason bloom. Color Class W2V. Standards soft mulberry rose; falls white with plicata edging like standards. 'Plumed Delight X 'Pink Unicorn'. Rainbow 1961.

From Rainbow Hybridizing Gardens catalog 1963: SPOONED DELIGHT (Austin '61) M-34". Very first spooned plicata & a very pleasing one. Standards rosy amethyst, falls & spoons white, edged with a peppering to match standards. Spoons fan-shaped, usually about 3/4" across, occasionally frilled or bearded. Beard light yellow. 48 chromosomes. (Plumed Delight X Pink Unicorn). Regularly $7.50; on $10 order $4.50; on $25 order $2.95; 3 for $8.40.
