'Spiced Cider' (Neva Sexton by Paul Black, R. 1988). TB, 36" (91 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards yellow gold; falls yellow gold around beard with yellow gold veins extending out into heavily sanded reddish rust overlay, yellow gold edge; bright yellow beard; slight sweet fragrance. Unknown parentage. Mid-America Gardens 1989. Honorable Mention 1991.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 1989: SPICED CIDER (Sexton/Black) - TB, 36" (91cm), Midseason. This seedling was sent as a guest before Neva Sexton died. It has been the hit of the garden since it first bloomed. I am proud to introduce it under her name. It was a big hit with convention goers this year and advance orders are heavy. Its seedling number was 11 Don't Know 11 since the labeling was lost by some hired helpers working for Neva. Flowers are big and amply cut with hafts touching. Standards are golden yellow with a touch of cinnamon. Falls are golden yellow around beards and veins of the same color reach further into the falls which are overlaid with an almost solid sanding of bright coppery rust. Fall margins are golden yellow. Beards are bright yellow. A garden "show-off"! Show stalks produced by sturdy, vigorous plants. Sdlg. "Don't Know": Lost parentage.
