'Spectabilis' (Jean-Nicolas Lémon, 1840) TB. Midseason bloom. Color Class Y9M.

Note: do not confuse with iris "spectabilis" from the germanica family which is violet-dark blue (originally called iris vulgaris sylvestris = common wild iris). The one described by Lémon under this name is a variegata type: Standards golden yellow; falls brownish crimson with a slight border. Height: 35-50 cm / 14-20"
