From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1942/43: SOLDIER BOY (Washington 1942) E. M. A most unusual pastel blend of great individuality and charm. A combination of mauve with the softest blending of tan intermingled, and a golden halo lighting up the center of the flower. Beard rich yellow. The flowers are large and flaring in form with firm substance and excellent branching. An entirely different, but most attractive iris. 38 in. $10.00. |
