From Walter Marx Gardens catalog 1957: SOIREE (Marx 1951) Each 3.00. Somehow, an atmosphere of soft candlelight, precious gowns, discreet luxury pervades this unusual flower. It is a near amoena of light mauve standards and deep amaranth purple falls, bordered light mauve. There is a soft metallic hue of goldin the center of the bloom that casts its sheen upward and outward and blends magnificently with the red-jewel-like beard. 36 inches.
