From Fleur de Lis Gardens catalog 1956: SMILING LIGHT (Tomp. 1954) M. L. 38 in. (Vatican Purple x Chivalry). A very large, gleaming violet self of smooth medium tone, this has beautifully formed flowers with broad ruffled petals. The standards are well domed and the falls flare rigidly horizontal. The finish is sleek and satiny and the substance is extra heavy giving the blooms great length of life. 20.00. |
