'Simple Dreams' (
Roger Nelson, R. 1980). Seedling# RN 76-27A. TB, 28-30" (71-76 cm), Midseason bloom. Standards smooth medium apricot, flushed bright pink (RHS 27B/C); falls blend of creamy apricot and golden yellow (near 13C), blending to tannish yellow (8D) at edge with deeper apricot tan (17D) flush at hafts; deep red orange (30B/C) beard; ruffled.

Standards smooth medium apricot, flushed bright pink. Falls blend of creamy apricot and golden yellow, blending to tannish yellow at edges and darker apricot-tan flush at hafts. Heavy, deep red-orange beards. Dramatically beautiful form with ruffled and fluted edges. Heavy substance, modest height with S-curved, wide angle branching and 7 buds. HC 1980. NOTE: May be faulted for not reaching 28" in all growing conditions, but surpasses others in color range and in the categories of form, vigor and hardiness. Iris Country. |
