1961, Brown

'Serene Serenade' (Rex Brown, R. 1960). Seedling# 56-95-1. TB, 34" (86 cm), Midseason bloom. Color Class-YO5, Standards plum-brown; falls plum- brown blended with tan, plum-brown band; brown-orange beard tipped blue. (Pink seedling x 'Pretty Quadroon') X 'Bold Buttercup'. Brown's Iris Garden 1961.

From AIS Bulletin #161, April 1961. Introducing SERENE SERENADE (1961) (Pink sdlg. x Pretty Quadroon) X Bold Buttercup). Standards are plum-brown; wide, ruffled, flaring falls are blended plum-brown and tan with a 1/4-inch band of dark brown around the edges. Something different in the brown class. Heavy substance and good branching. $30.00. Brown's Iris Garden.
