1980, Brown

'Secret Cove' (Opal Brown, R. 1980). Seedling# 78-8A40. TB, 39" (99 cm), Early midseason bloom. (Ruffled and laced wisteria blue (RHS 91B/92B); falls slightly lighter in center; tangerine beard. Involving many generations of blue, pink and laced blue seedlings. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens 1980.

From AIS Bulletin #237 April 1980 Introducing SECRET COVE (0. Brown '80). TB, 39"-40", EM. Large flowers between hyacinth and wisteria blue. Ruffled standards are domed. Wide ruffled falls are arched with a lilting grace. All petal edges are beautifully laced. Tangerine beards. Well-branched stalks carry 8 to 9 buds. From many generations of involved breeding with blues, pinks and laced blues. Sdlg. 78·8A40. $25.00. Brown's Sunnyhill Gardens.
