1984, Moores

'Scrimshaw' (Walter Moores, R. 1983). Seedling# 79-29. TB, 36" (91 cm). Midseason bloom. Cool white with 1/4" margin of medium lavender on falls; pale yellow beard tipped lavender. 'Etched Amoena' X 'Spinning Wheel'. Moores 1984.

From AIS Bulletin #253 April 1984 Introducing SCRIMSHAW. Sdlg. 79·29. TB, 36", M. Untouched cool white standards with cool white falls carefully inked in a 1/4" margin of medium lavender in the manner of scrimshaw artisans. Beards are pale yellow to lavender at the tip. The absence of standard markings makes this a pure amoena plicata. For those who view irises close up! Pious. Etched Amoena X Spinning Wheel. $25.00. Walter Moores.
