'Schiaparelli' (Steve Moldovan, R. 1974). Seedling# 66-9. TB, 32-36" (81-91 cm), Early midseason bloom. Light red self; cerise pink beard. Seedling# 63-4: (Fay seedling: ('Fleeta' x 'Pink Enchantment') x Waters seedling) X seedling# 63-1: ('New Arrival' x 'One Desire'). Moldovan 1971. Honorable Mention 1975.

From AIS Bulletin #205 April 1972 Introducing SCHIAPARELLI (Moldovan 71). EM. 32-34" Sdlg. 66-9 (63-4: (Fay Pk. Sdlg. from Fleeta x Waters DP 58, from Pink Enchantment) X 63-1: (New Arrival x One Desire). My deepest, clearest pink self, including the full beard of cerise pink. Large, beautifully formed, broad petalled blossoms are held on well-branched stems. Easy grower and prolific. Named for the fashion designer who was known for the color-hot pink. Very fertile. $25.00. Moldovan's Gardens.
