Hybridizer's Comment: The best way to describe this unusual iris is to look at the photo, but putting it in words may help: Standards are lemon yellow with a pinkish blush through the midrib. The falls are cream with a very light overlay wash of magenta brown but very pastel. The effect is that the falls are veined all over in cream and honey tan. There is also a 1/4" band of a more beige tone. Beards are vivid tangerine. It is fertile and gives fun seedlings, though we have not used it very much. We made the cross in Keith Keppel's garden in Salem in May 2001 using two of his seedlings. |
