'Saigon' (Gordon Plough, R. 1960). Seedling# 57-19-70. TB, 36" (91 cm), Early midseason to late bloom. Color Class-W2V, Standards white, wide methyl violet border; falls white with narrow edge, same color; light orange beard tipped blue. 'Happy Meeting' X ((plicata seedling x 'Vatican Purple') x 'Castle Rock')). Eden Road 1961.

From AIS Bulletin #165, April 1962. Introducing SAIGON (Plough) EML. 36 in. (Happy Meeting) X (sdlg. inv. Castle Rock, Vatican Purple, etc.). Wide, ruffly plicata lightly marked on white. Stds. have wide suffused border of methyl violet; falls are narrowly edged same color. Border does not extend to top of flower. Beard is light orange with blue-white tip. Fertile both ways. $25.00.
