From Fairmount Gardens catalog, 1942/43: "A light primrose self of great refinement and excellent form. The stalks are well branched and tall. Considered one of the best yellows in England".
Sahara: (Pilkington). Has a tall well branched stalk—blooms have good substance—a self color of straw yellow, falls showing some brown spots believe due to weather conditions, well worth while. [Belsley, Ray J., Varietal Comments. Bulletin of the American Iris Society 74 (July 1939), 18.]
