From Mid-America Garden catalog, 1984: ROBUSTO- TB, 36" (91 cm), Late-Midseason. From two lines that have been noticeably shy of vigor in this part of the country comes Robusto, a variety that lives up to its name. Most of the seedlings in this cross had better than average vigor but this one outgrows them by two or three to one and does so with show quality stalks. The flowers, while not the most finished out of the cross, aren't dogs either. Standards are creamy orange with pinkish lavender infusion up the midrib. Falls are creamy orange with pinkish cast and paler area around bright orange beards. There are three beautifully spaced branches with ten to twelve buds. Sdlg. 681-141: Old Flame X Instant Charm.
