From AIS Bulletin #217 April 1975 Introducing RESPONSIVE CHORD-Sdlg. #4470A: ((Charm School x Lilting Melody) X (Charm School x Blocher R75)). A graceful, full formed iris having dramatic appeal. The fluted standards are medium violet with a striking blue rim. The broad, picoted falls are the same color with a light yellow wash at the hafts. But then, above the violet rim appears a rich blue decorative band. It reminds one of a lady's fullpleated, violet skirt trimmed with a band of blue inches above the hem line. The light violet style crests are most fascinating for they are boldly striped with the same blue coloring. It is a husky grower with strong stalks and good foliage. Being a very late bloomer, it extends the iris season. Late, 36". $25.00. Echo Hill Garden. |
