From Sass catalog, 1937: RED WING (H. P. Sass)- S. light brownish vinaceous; F. Dahlia carmine. Large blooms. 36 inches. 35c
From Sarah Toedt’s Springtime Gardens catalog, 1929: REDWING — Very similar to Vilmorin’s Allies in shape and size of flowers as well as coloring of falls. This blended bicolor, richly shaded is red-toned throughout, while Vilmorins fall-bloomer has blue tones in the standards.
