'Red Butterfly' (
Jack Linse, R. 1955) TB (hybr.), 40" (102 cm). Midseason bloom. Reverse bicolor. Standards rose-red, falls white lined dahlia-purple, dark lilac-purple at tips of falls; barium-yellow beard. Fertile both ways.

From Easy Breeze Gardens catalog, 1956: RED BUTTERFLY (Linse 1956) 40". Midseason. An arrangers iris deluxe! Of good size, but not huge, it has rose-red standards and falls of white, lined Dahlia purple. The beard is golden brown with a white area about it, the lines radiate out from this to near the edge of falls, which are margined dark lilac-purple, near black. The haft edges are barium yellow. This, then, is a larger Butterfly Wings done in red, white and gold, with fine clear colors. It has a beautiful four way branched stalk, is a real husky grower and fertile both ways. The parentage is Butterfly Wings X Spellbound. Each $20.00
