From Quality Gardens catalog 1930:PINK SATIN (Jacob Sass 1930) M. 46" The Sass Brothers have produced some very fine iris for a number of years but this one we consider as far and away their finest production. It is an enormous flower of perfect form, our ideal of what the form of an iris should be. The substance is so thick that it is almost leathery and never flops or fades in the most intense heat. It is the first true pink iris which has ever been introduced, not a violet pink, nor a purplish pink, nor a lavender pink, nor a mauve pink, but this is a pink pink. It has such a rich glistening lustre and such a satiny sheen, that the name Pink Satin was bestowed upon it. When you see the iris in bloom you will think the name very apt. (Supply very limited. We can sell only one root to each customer.) $40.00.
From Maple Valley Iris Gardens catalog, 1937: PINK SATIN (J. Sass 1930) M. 42 in. Perhaps the clearest and purest of the light pinks; a very appealing flower of graceful form and placing, and with a smooth satiny sheen. An iris with a rare and charming personality. H. M., 1931. 75c.
