From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1956: OVERTURE (Hall 1944) M. 34 in. (Sister to Dream Girl). One of the first of the famous flamingo pinks. Has been a fine parent. H.M. 1944. 1.00.
From 1944 Hallcroft catalog: OVERTURE. Seedling 42-20. HC 1943. A flamingo pink, a little larger than DREAM GIRL and of a slightly lighter tone of pink. The flowers are carried on a strong 36-inch stem. Branching is fair, substance and form good. The color holds up well. It is winter hardy, a strong grower and a free bloomer. $15
