2003, Niswonger

'Out Of Blue' (O. David Niswonger, R. 2003). Seedling# 21-01. TB, 38" (97 cm). Late midseason bloom. Standards white, base blue; style arms light blue; falls white, base blue; beards white. Sibling to 'Unclouded Sky'. Cape Iris 2003.

From AIS Bulletin #329 April 2003 Introducing OUT OF BLUE (Niswonger '03) TB, sdlg 21-01, a sib to Unclouded Sky. 38" (97 cm), Midseason to late in blooming. Yes, this one ran out of blue so it ended up white with just a touch of blue in the heart of the flower. The inhibitor just couldn't wipe out all of the blue is another way to look at it. White beard. Won blue ribbon at the SEMO Iris Society Show in 2002. Wide hafted, wide branched, fluted with starchy substance. $45.00. Cape Iris.
