From Samuel Berry catalog, 1924: ORIZABA (1925). S. Pleroma Violet, F. Hyacinth Violet, deepening to Mulberry Purple; conspicuous yellow beard; a huge and handsome dark purple Iris of Mesopotamica habit; 4 ft.; very early; coloring remarkably clear and deep; hardiness quite untested; illustrated on cover. $10.00.
From Samuel Berry catalog, 1930: ORIZABA (1925). A huge dark purple Iris of Mesopotamica ancestry and habit; early and very handsome at its best, but so inconsistent a performer from garden to garden and year to year that we prefer not to sell it further. (Withdrawn).
