From Treholme Gardens catalog 1931: Oregon Giant (Kleinsorge 1930) M. S. 42". S. bright violet-purple; F. flaring, very velvety, black-purple; prominent bright orange beard. A very large flower on tall, branched stalks. Unusually rich and velvety.
From Maple Valley Iris Gardens catalog, 1933: OREGON GIANT (Klein. 1930) Standards reddish purple; Falls blackish purple, wide and flaring. Heavy gold beard. 42 in. $2.50.
