1972, Burger

'Orchid Skies' (Eugene Burger, R. 1972). Seedling# B-16. TB, 35" (89 cm), Midseason bloom. Orchid blend with deeper veining, tannish haft; orange-red beard; ruffled. 'Pretty Carol' X 'Rippling Waters'. Gene & Gerry's Iris 1972.

From AIS Bulletin #205 April 1972 Introducing ORCHID SKIES (G. & G. Burger '72). $25.00. Sdlg. B-16: Pretty Carol X Rippling Waters. TB. 35". Mid. A lovely ruffled orchid blend with deeper veining. Domed standards over flaring falls, set off with an orange-red beard. Good branching, substance and vigor. This one did very well at the 1969 convention in Milwaukee and is performing excellently in California area also. Gene & Gerry's Iris Gardens.
