| From Sunnybrook Farms Iris Gardens catalog 1919: OPAL — S. very large, wavy and overlapping, lavender, softly shaded mauve, Flavender, overlaid with rose, blue shading at each side of throat and running down middle line of F. The whole flower is enormous in size, beautifully wavy in effect, gracefully branched, and with an indescribably opalescent appearance. |
