From Southern Meadows catalog,1966: OKAW BLUTOP (J. Tucker '66) VL 36" (South Pacific x Wide World) X (Vatican Purple x Wide World). Very heavily substanced large reverse amoena. Standards are light blue overlaid with much darker blue near heart and one half way up, midrib blue. Falls are circular, open very light blue becoming white, held well out. Yellow beard sets off flower perfectly. Flowers have a glistny finish and are above average in size. Nine buds are arranged perfectly on an extra heavy stalk, never needs staking. This flower and plant are perfect in every way. Due to very late season of bloom this has never been seen by a judge. The unusual parentage may be of interest to the hybridizer. This line is producing unusual things for us, giving superb substance, stalking, flower form, bud number and placement, and very hardy. $25.00 |
