'Oedipus Rex' (Lloyd Zurbrigg, R. 1954) Seedling# Gaymex #1. TB, height 38" (97 cm). Very late bloom. Yellow and red. 'Mexico' x 'Gaylord'. Avonbank 1955.

From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog 1963: OEDIPUS REX (Zurb. '55) L. 38 in. (Mexico x Gaylord). The largest of the variegatas. Huge, well formed, heavily ruffled flowers of great brilliance . Standards are light dandelion yellow and falls are of a vibrant,.near true red . Fine. 1.00.
