From Fleur De Lis Gardens catalog, 1968: NIGHT LAUGHTER (Tompkins 1968) M.L. 38 in. (Deep Space x Allegiance). A very dark self of Midnight blue, this carries all the best characteristics of both parents. It has the basic color of Allegiance with the smoothness of Deep Space, even the haft being free from veins or marks of any kind. The large flowers are very heavily substanced and have extra broad petals with well domed stands and semi-flaring falls of great width. Tall, strong, well branched stalks display the flowers to fine advantage and its many buds give it an extra long season of top-notch bloom. This has been well liked here each season and has been much admired in California and in eastern gardens where it has been grown. No. 64-55. Net $20.00 |
