Steve Moldovan's NEPTUNE'S POOL (1972) was in full bloom in the Crumpler garden. We don't see many of Steve's things in Oklahoma, so my first meeting with NEPTUNE'S POOL was very impressive, with its tall, well-branched stalks carrying heavily ruffled and frilled blossoms with color quite similar to PRAISE THE LORD. And those horizontal falls I so adore! [Dyer, Perry. “Roanoke 1974, and Points West.” The Bulletin of the American Iris Society. 221 (July 1974): 29.] |
