Paul Black, R. 2005). Seedling# J484B. TB, 43" (109 cm), Midseason thru late bloom. Standards soft gray-pearl, violet infusion at base and up midrib; style arms light mauve, violet ridge; falls medium violet, paler around beard; beards rusty orange, medium violet at end; slight spicy fragrance.

From Mid-America Garden catalog, 2005: MYSTERY BOOK - TB, 43" (109 cm), Midseason-Late. Mystery Book is a notable step in the quest for an iris with blue standards and pink falls. It is also the sum of everything good from both these fine parents. Soft gray-pearl standards are infused violet at bases and up midribs. Neatly ruffled falls are medium violet with pearl area around rusty orange beards tipped violet at their ends. Exceptional show stalks have 3 branches and 7-8 buds. Sturdy, tough growth.
