'Minnie Colquitt' (
Hans Peter Sass, R. 1941). TB, Midseason to late bloom. Height 36" (91 cm), Color Class-W8D. A massive white plicata, slightly ruffled, with combed standards and broad flaring falls. The petals have a wide edging of purple. Stems 36 inches with wide branching. Probably plicata from
'Maid Of Astolat' lines. Maple Valley Gardens, 1942. Honorable Mention 1943; Award of Merit 1945.

From Carl Salbach catalog 1945: MINNIE COLQUITT (H. Sass 1942). A new bright-colored plicata from the Middle West that is beautiful and distinct. Blooms are of good form and very heavy substance. The standards are a deep redpurple over white. The rather broad semiflaring falls are a clear creamy white with a wide band of purple stitching. Low and wide-branched stems. 34". Mid-season. $5.00. |
