'Mildred Harrell' (Steve Varner, R. 1970). Seedling# 7172. TB, 35" (89 cm), Late midseason bloom. Standards cream with buff tint; falls same, tan veining at haft; light orange beard. 'Memphis Lass' X 'Rococo'. Varner 1971.

From AIS Bulletin #201 April 1971 Introducing MILDRED HARRELL (Varner '71) $25.00. (Memphis Belle X Rococo). TB. 35". ML. OWILcm. S cream with buff tint. F same, tan veins at haft, light orange beard. Ruffled and airy, this makes a beautiful clump. Named for that grand lady who for years, almost single handedly, championed plicatas. HC '70 as No. 7172. It was most popular. Illini Iris.
